Your Councillors
Councillors are elected to represent specific geographic areas within the council, known as wards. Councillors are typically elected by local residents every four years.
To promote transparency and accountability, all elected and co-opted members of parish councils are required to complete a Register of Interests form. This records any financial, personal, or other interests that could influence, or be perceived to influence, their role as a councillor.

Gary Cullimore
Chairman
I was born in Luton but moved to Cornwall at the age of 6 months so I consider myself to be Cornish. I lived in Redruth for most of my childhood and joined the Royal Navy at the age of 16, I served on ships for a few years and then joined Submarines where I stayed for the rest of my time in the Navy.

Anne Edwards
Councillor
While in full time employment I wished I could have done more to add to village life. On becoming semi retired I was able to do that and became involved in organising the first Illogan Parish Fun Day, an event which I hope will run for many years, I also restarted litter picks around the village which are now run on a regular basis by the Events Committee.

Tara O’Donnell
Councillor
I was born and grew up in the seaside village of Perranporth, and spent most of my early years living in a guest house that my mother owned. During the school holidays, I worked in hospitality to earn extra pocket money, and got to know many of the locals living in the village at that time. It was a comfort that people knew each other and looked out for each other as neighbours used to – a bit of a rarity these days.

Maggie Thompson
Councillor
After moving to Illogan a few years ago, I was struck by the warmth and welcome I received. It inspired me to give something back to the community that had shown me such kindness. When the opportunity arose to be co-opted onto the Parish Council, I decided to put myself forward, hoping that my background in community development and social care might prove helpful.
As someone who does not own a car, I am particularly aware of the challenges surrounding public transport, an issue I know is important to many residents.
I am also a grandmother of six, a great grandmother of one, and through my enthusiasm for family history research, I discovered that my grandchildren have roots in Illogan dating back as far as the 18th century!
